Find me on:

In order to see if the NTP setting on the v-switch is able to reach it’s NTP server you can use the following command:

Login as root

Then type> ntpdate –d x.x.x.x (time server address)

If the address of the NTP is reachable....you will see something like the following:

transmit (192.168.4.21)
receive (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
receive (192.168.4.21)
etc...
ntpdate: step time server 192.168.4.21 offset 52.378626 sec --- Success

If your NTP address is not reachable or it is invalid you will receive the following:

transmit (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)
transmit (192.168.4.21)

ntpdate: no server suitable for synchronization found --- Failure
